A preliminary project and
Project Rotary Club Orihuela Costa International

We continued the work in IG. During this process, the proper fundamentals were discussed several times, both internally in IG, with Ricardo J. Molina, the Governor of District 2203 in Rotary, one of three districts in Spain, and with potential sponsor clubs.
Based on experiences from our former Rotary club and new knowledge, IG did the establishing work by Rotary’s procedures.
IG established an online conference system and a marketing system on Facebook to communicate during the pandemic time, recruit future members, and conduct future member meetings.
The Facebook page gained 249 likes, an open group for those considering becoming members got 40 stakeholders, and a closed group for possible paying members got 20 at the startup date.
Christina Berardi took charge and conducted three unofficial project meetings. Then the Project Rotary Club Orihuela Costa International was launched.

Several Rotarians joined forces, including Business Queens Network: Christina Berardi, Gunnel Thunström, and Anne Brit Solheim. This group established an interim group (IG) to prepare a platform for a new future international Rotary Club in Vega Baja, Costa Blanca, Spain, an alternative to Club Rotario de la Zenia International/Rotary Club La Zenia International.

This task force contained the following elements:

IG clarified the need for a new club.
Formally, we worked through the fundamentals we believed we had before the Rotary organization gained our work presentation.
IG agreed on who could get the opportunity to take a formal responsibility and take the president's role in a future club.
Christina Berardi got the written mandate from the District Governor in district 2203 in Spain.

Project Rotary Club Orihuela Costa International entered a new phase to work for an inauguration. while being a satellite under RC Torrevieja, with a chief, Christina Berardi.
The 4th of November 2020 was the time for the first official project meeting.
